The Invention of Hugo Cabret
A couple of years ago, I started reading this really good book called, The Invention of Hugo Cabret. It's about an orphan boy who is a clock keeper as well as a thief, who lives in the walls of a Parisian train station, where he steals to survive. One day he is caught by a bitter old man at the toy booth of the train station, who discovers his secrets.A cryptic drawing, a treasured notebook, a stolen key, and a hidden message from Hugo's dead father, form a wonderful story, worth reading. But of course, the movies not that great. It could have been worse, but I didn't like it at all, and the kid who played Hugo, kind of creeped me out. As usual, the book was better, but the movie wasn't horrible.I did like how they added a few scenes though. In the book, it will talk about a mean character, for instance, the inspector. But in the movie, it explains why he's so mean, and they elaborate his back ground, as well as many other characters and scenes.
